Musing Mondays - Favorite Reading Spot

Where is your most often used (favorite) reading spot? Do you have more than one? What makes your favorite spot just that?

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your opinion in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!

**MUSING MONDAYS is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading

My favorote reading spot is my couch. I sleep on it, read on it, play games on it and study for school on it. It definitely serves its purpose. And I have my bookshelf right by it, so I don`t have to go far if I need another book. :)

My second favorite place is an "armchair"?! I have no idea if that is the correct word for it in english. Anyway, its currently occupied by my hippo I`ve won on a fair, but that can be remedied any time...

I can`t read on my bed though, I usually fall asleep within minutes :( But then, at least I get some sleep, otherwise I would just read all night, until I`m finished with the book... :)

What about you, where do you read?

All the shoe lovers, HELP!

Do you like shoes? I LOVE them!! They are on the same level as books for me. Books and shoes are the only two things I spend too much money on... Even if I don`t need them, I buy them! It drives my bf crazy... But hey, look who`s talking, he bought himself a motorbike for 4000+ EUR with all the equipment. I don`t think I have spent so much on my shoes and books...yet!

So anyway, I have blue shoes, green shoes, red shoes, purple shoes, yellow shoes, black shoes, white shoes, brown shoes, gray shoes... (I think you get my point). I`m going to watch SATC 2 only to see Carrie`s shoes and I`ll probably drool all over myself. But, lets get to the point. I want to buy new shoes and I can only  have one pair. Now, I have narrowed my choices down to 2, and I need your help deciding. When I asked my bf, he said: "None, you have too many already!", so he wasn`t very helpful! Here are the options:

The first pair is from Iron Fist. I love their shoes, they are artwork and styling put together. The second pair is a bit more "normal", but still sexy... :) What do you think? Which should I buy?

About a month back I`ve read a book in which the main character reminded me so much of...me. Plus, the book was very funny. It`s:

Jennifer Crusie - Bet me

Min Dobbs knows that happily-ever-after is a fairy tale, especially with a man like Cal Morrisey, who asked her to dinner to win a bet. Cal Morrisey knows commitment is impossible, especially with a woman as cranky as Min Dobbs. When they say good-bye at the end of their evening, they cut their losses and agree never to see each other again.

But Fate has other plans, and it’s not long before Min and Cal are dealing with meddling friends, wedding cake, a jealous ex-boyfriend, Krispy Kremes, a determined psychologist, chaos theory, a frantic bride, Chicken Marsala, a mutant cat, snow globes, two Mothers-from-Hell, great shoes, and more risky propositions than either of them ever dreamed of including the biggest gamble of all–unconditional love.

I am soooo like Min... She isn`t a super-model type of woman with 90-60-90 proportions. She is small and a bit more "plump" :). She dresses, we could say normally, works in statistics (I work in accounting - my job is just as lame). But she has many, many kinky and interesting shoes! And her bf is hot. But not as hot as mine!! ;)

Overall, my rating of this book is 4. Loved it! I recommend it to any of you girls, and the action at the end is "sizzling"...

Back to the point!! Please leave me a comment with your opinion. I have a really hard time deciding... :( Tnx!

Giving my brain some rest...

Ugh, I hate June!! It`s exam period here in Slovenia, which means...no romance books for me! Only 500 pages or more of accounting and other boring stuff :( But sometimes I just can`t help myself. I take a break and it`s usually for some rereads of short simple Harlequin romance books. Yes, I know, the titles are dreadful! But sometimes the stories are worth reading. Like, for example, Lynne Graham`s books. Here are some of my favorites:

Ruthless Magnate, Convenient Wife

Billionaire in need... Sergei Antonovich, a Russian billionaire, was famous for being knee-deep in stunning supermodels and aspiring actresses. But not one was suitable bride material. Would he ever grant his ageing babushka her dearest wish and present her with a grandchild? Of a bride and a baby... So, why not handle this challenge as business? Without emotion, but with a contract of convenience that granted him the perfect deal: a wife he’d bed, wed, get pregnant...and then discard...

The Petrakos Bride

Maddie idolized Giannis Petrakos, who had lavished money on the charity that had cared for Maddie's twin sister and was sinfully gorgeous. Now Maddie has a lowly job at Petrakos industries. Soon Giannis demanded she be his mistress, for as long as he wanted her. Because when Giannis finally married he wanted a wife more suited to his wealth and class.

Damiano's Return

Missing Husband Found Alive! Damiano Braganzi is back! Damiano - the husband whom Eden had thought she'd never see again. Eden and Damiano had been married only a short time when he disappeared, and things had not been good between them. So, though Eden knows her love for Damiano is as strong as ever, she fears that he will want a divorce... unless she can overcome her hang-ups in the bedroom.

The Vengeful Husband

The hunter: Darcy Fielding, a single mom, decides she must ADVERTISE for a husband! But the consequences of one night of unforgettable passion are about to return to haunt her. The husband? Gianluca Raffacani has finally traced the mysterious beauty who disappeared from his bed. She is advertising for a husband - his perfect opportunity for revenge...Only, Luca finds he's married the mother of his secret child!

The books are pretty good. The plot usually consists of a wealthy tycoon and a virgin, who have one night of passion. That leads to her getting pregnant and him making a marriage proposal. Simple but fun if you need to relax and just give your brain a rest.

My rating for all Lynne Graham books is somewhere between Not bad... & Loved it!

Starting a new adventure!!

Lately I`ve been reading so many book blogs, I`ve said to myself: "Why not? If they can do it, I can do it!" Right? So, here it is, my first blog post!!

For starters, let me introduce myself. I`m 23 and I am an avid book reader. I have been for some years now, ever since I`ve discovered e-books. Sometimes I just can`t stop reading. I read 3 to 5 books a week, usually historical or paranormal romance. I read in my free time, during work, when I should be learning for school or doing something equally important. I can` be helped!!

I love all Lisa Kleypas and Julie Garwood books, they are my favourite historical authors. And in paranormal section, I must mention Shelly Laurenston, J.R.Ward and K.M.Moning (I can`t wait for the last book in Fever series...)!

If I like a book, I must have it in paperback! I simply must... So, as you can imagine, I now have too much books with no place to put them (you probably have the same problem...). 6 months back I`ve bought a new bookshelf... It`s already full. And my shopping cart on Amazon is slowly starting to overflow with books that I want! What am I to do?! Any ideas, please leave a comment! ;)

Anyway, I thought I might blog about the books that I`ve read. My rating system will be:

5. Must have in paperback!
4. Loved it!
3. Not bad...
2. Awful!!
1. Never even finished it!!

And, I would love hearing your thoughts and ideas about things that I write. So don`t be shy, comment! :)

Yours truly,
Laura
